“The Last Passengers” — our latest film created in 48 hours for the Gen:48 by Runway competition
We’re proud to present the latest production from Creait.me — the short film “The Last Passengers”, created as part of the 4th edition of the international Gen:48 by Runway competition.
We had exactly 48 hours to complete the entire film. That’s how much time participants from around the world were given to craft an original story using AI tools — based on three required elements selected from a predefined list.
In our case, those were:
Location: a shipwreck
Character: a brave animal
Object: a note on a wall
A story of the end — and a new beginning
In “The Last Passengers”, we take the viewer on a post-apocalyptic journey.
After a global flood consumed the Earth, only a handful of survivors remained, drifting across the ocean aboard a damaged ark in search of land.
But in the end, only two small creatures survive — carrying with them the last hope for a new beginning.
It’s a story of loss, survival, and rebirth.
Told without words or dialogue — built purely through image, sound, and atmosphere.
AI as a tool for emotion
“The Last Passengers” was created entirely using generative AI technology.
We combined photorealistic visual style with a dreamlike atmosphere, creating a story designed to move and provoke reflection.
The ambient soundtrack and absence of dialogue heighten the sense of solitude and contemplation.
Why it matters to us
Gen:48 is more than just a competition — it’s a global experiment that shows how far we can push the boundaries of storytelling through artificial intelligence.
For Creait.me, it’s also a confirmation that AI can be a creative tool that doesn’t limit — but enhances emotion, narrative, and visual expression.
