Jesus
Self-initiated
Project Overview
Is it possible to look into the face of a man who lived two thousand years ago?
Using advanced artificial intelligence tools, we set out to create the most realistic reconstruction of Jesus of Nazareth — based on the Shroud of Turin, as well as anthropological, historical, and iconographic data.
Objective
The Shroud of Turin has long been one of the most mysterious and debated artifacts of Christianity. The image of a man bearing signs of suffering has inspired believers and scholars alike. Our goal was not to prove the Shroud’s authenticity, but rather to produce a credible visual interpretation that offers a contemporary viewer a glimpse into how Jesus may have looked — grounded in both science and sacred tradition.
Scope of Work
anatomical and forensic analysis of the Shroud image
integration of anthropological data from 1st-century Judean populations
iconographic references (e.g. Mandylion, early Christ Pantocrator icons)
AI-generated face reconstruction
visualizations of the face and full figure: frontal, profile, close-ups (eyes, hands, side wound, feet)
styles: photorealistic, sketch, symbolic
video editing and original cinematic ambient soundtrack
